Overview
This mid-level finance professional will be responsible for executing and overseeing accounting functions, while actively contributing to financial operations such as planning, analysis, reporting, and ensuring compliance. The role demands maintenance of accurate accounting records, abiding by established procedures, and timely provision of financial insights for strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, expense recording, and entries in Tally or ERP systems.
- Review and verify accounting work performed by junior personnel to guarantee precision and adherence to internal guidelines.
- Manage the general ledger, fixed asset registers, and oversee the schedules for month-end closing.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and statutory mandates.
- Assist in external and internal auditing by preparing required supporting documentation.
- Support the creation of management information systems (MIS), financial statements, cash flow reports, and variance analyses.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, collaborating with relevant departments to collect and validate financial data.
- Perform fundamental financial analyses for review by management.
- Maintain and update financial documentation including formats, templates, and operational checklists.
- Ensure procedural adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and recommend enhancements where necessary.
- Contribute to financial documentation processes and efforts toward workflow automation.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent field; CA Inter or MBA Finance qualification preferred.
- Approximately 1 to 6 years of accounting experience with exposure to finance and management information systems.
- Practical experience with Tally or ERP software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and compliance with statutory financial requirements.
- Capability to review work and mentor junior accounting staff.
