Finance Director (w/m/d)

Overview

This role involves partnering closely with the CFO during a dynamic phase highlighted by budgeting, planning exercises, and transitioning to a SaaS business model. The objective is to establish a professional and investor-ready Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function, enhancing transparency, consistency, and clarity in financial performance reporting. The Finance Director will serve as a key counterpart to the CFO.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and rolling planning activities across the product division.
• Organize and manage internal financial review cycles culminating in approvals from private equity investors.
• Translate the shift from a traditional license model to SaaS into relevant financial KPIs and management controls.
• Design and evolve an international, data-centric reporting environment.
• Define and implement a clear target operating model that distinctly separates accounting from controlling functions.
• Serve as the principal finance liaison with Sales, Product, and Operations teams to ensure strategic alignment.
• Contribute to materials prepared for board discussions and represent finance matters in specific meetings when needed.
• While initially without direct hierarchical leadership, actively participate in building and scaling an international FP&A team for future growth.

Requirements and Skills

The job expects strong capabilities in financial planning, budgeting, SaaS business model understanding, and cross-functional collaboration. Experience in private equity environments and international reporting structures is essential. Proficiency with data-driven finance tools and ability to implement organizational finance operating models are critical.
