Facility Housekeeper

Position Overview

Diversified Foods and Seasonings in Theodore, Alabama, seeks a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of its food production facility. This role is essential in supporting plant operations by ensuring all areas adhere to safety and hygiene standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Keep all sections of the facility—including production areas, offices, restrooms, and break rooms—clean and orderly.
• Perform floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and disinfecting surfaces.
• Manage waste by emptying trash containers and disposing of refuse appropriately.
• Clean and sanitize production machinery and tools to meet hygiene standards.
• Restock necessary supplies like paper towels, soaps, and cleaning agents.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
• Adhere strictly to company and OSHA guidelines related to safety, sanitation, and chemical handling.
• Immediately report any maintenance problems, spills, or hazardous conditions to supervision.
• Maintain detailed cleaning documentation including logs and checklists.
• Carry out additional housekeeping and utility duties as directed by the Sanitation Supervisor.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous experience in custodial, housekeeping, or sanitation roles is mandatory.
• High level of attention to detail with a strong dedication to cleanliness and safety protocols.
• Capable of following both written and spoken instructions effectively.
• Proven reliability with excellent time management skills.
• Minimum educational achievement: High school diploma or GED.
• Basic math and reading abilities required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working within food production or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and standard sanitation procedures.
