Overview

This pivotal executive role will significantly influence the Trust’s leadership within South East London and is vital to realizing Essentia’s strategic goals. The individual in this position holds full autonomy and ultimate responsibility for interpreting legal and national policies, transforming these into actionable strategies and operational practices that guarantee compliance across all GSTT locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the stewardship of the Trust’s estate infrastructure to ensure it remains legally compliant, safe, resilient, and operated with a customer-focused, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Develop and drive strategies addressing the Trust’s historic infrastructure underinvestment, ensuring the creation of safe, accessible, healthy, and secure environments for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Implement reactive and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) strategies for estate infrastructure aligned with institutional and clinical priorities.
• Set and manage operational performance targets, both financial and non-financial, in line with service standards and compliance with Financial & Procurement Regulations.
• Continuously evaluate services to identify and implement improvements that enhance operational efficiency, financial performance, and responsiveness to evolving business needs while adhering to budget allocations.
• Ensure the infrastructure team possesses the requisite technical, professional, and managerial skills aligned with the Trust’s values and behaviors.
• Play a crucial role in advancing GSTT’s sustainability objectives and carbon reduction commitments.
• Lead operational transformation anchored in strategic planning and people-centric leadership, championing the Trust’s commitments to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) as well as culture change.
