Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior ETL Tester with over five years of specialized experience to join our data engineering and analytics team based in Oman. This role requires validating complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality and accuracy, and verifying end-to-end data movement from multiple sources into enterprise data warehouses and big data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans, cases, and scripts for advanced ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter.
• Write optimized Teradata SQL queries to verify source-to-target data mappings and perform integrity and performance assessments.
• Test and validate data ingestion and processing within Hadoop ecosystems like Hive, HDFS, or Spark ensuring integration with traditional data stores.
• Automate testing tasks and data reconciliations using Python scripts to streamline quality assurance.
• Utilize telecom domain knowledge (CDRs, billing, network data, CRM) to analyze requirements and detect data anomalies.
• Manage defects via Jira or ALM, collaborating closely with ETL developers, data architects, and business analysts to resolve issues.
• Validate data migrations, transformations, aggregations, and business logic across multiple layers.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Minimum 5 years of dedicated ETL and Data Warehouse testing experience.
• At least 2-3 years of Telecom domain exposure, working with OSS/BSS systems, billing, and network analytics data.
• Strong expertise in Informatica PowerCenter, including understanding of workflows, mappings, and transformations.
• Advanced Teradata SQL skills with proficiency in stored procedures, macros, joins, indexes, and analytical functions.
• Practical experience with Hadoop ecosystem components such as Hive and HDFS.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data validation purposes.
• Solid grasp of Data Warehousing concepts including star and snowflake schemas, SCD Type 1 and 2, and fact/dimension tables.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience with test management tools like Jira, HP ALM, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and effective communication skills bridging technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git for test automation pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms including Snowflake, AWS, or Azure.
• Certification such as ISTQB or equivalent software testing accreditation.

Additional Information

This position requires working onsite at the customer location in Oman following a 5-day workweek. The recruitment process involves an initial virtual interview followed by in-person rounds at the company office in Bengaluru. Candidates must be willing to relocate fully to Oman.
