Engineer, Projects (Technical Projects Department - Habshan & Bab)

About The Role

As a key member of the Technical Projects team at ADNOC, the Engineer will contribute to all phases of project engineering activities encompassing the entire lifecycle — from the initial concept phase through front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and final handover. The goal is to ensure projects are delivered adhering strictly to safety, quality, timeline, budget, and ADNOC's Value Assurance Process (VAP) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project execution from concept to commissioning, including developing Statements of Requirements and execution strategies.
• Assist in preparing tender documents and evaluating engineering consultants, PMC, and EPC contractors.
• Review engineering deliverables and construction methodologies from contractors to confirm scope and specification compliance.
• Track progress in engineering, procurement, and construction phases while identifying bottlenecks and proposing corrective measures.
• Participate actively in value engineering efforts, constructability reviews, and project workshops.
• Coordinate with licensors, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders for seamless technical execution.
• Attend project meetings and technical reviews to ensure alignment between Engineering, Operations, and Project teams.
• Monitor contractor performance, invoices, and project costs in partnership with cost management teams.
• Evaluate contractor claims, support negotiations, and assist with contract closure activities.
• Keep close oversight of project variations, risks, and trends affecting cost and schedule.
• Facilitate risk assessments, including PHSER and ATR reviews, to comply with ADNOC’s safety procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and engineering standards throughout the project phases.
• Support the implementation of HSE protocols during engineering and execution stages.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, progress records, and close-out documents.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts with contractors and operations teams, reviewing procedures and readiness plans.
• Oversee punch-list closure activities to guarantee completion of all construction and commissioning works.
• Ensure smooth handover of project facilities to operations and assist with start-up operations as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in project engineering within the oil and gas sector.
• Proven capability to coordinate and support multi-disciplinary project execution.
• Skilled at tracking contractor deliverables and performance effectively.
• Proactive in identifying risks related to engineering and execution phases.
• Strong focus on ensuring technical compliance and quality assurance.
• Excellent collaboration skills with project, engineering, and operations teams.
• Thorough understanding of project portfolio, engineering scopes, and contractor interfaces.
• Commitment to supporting on-time delivery of engineering and project tasks.
• Enhance coordination between engineering, procurement, and execution departments.
• Contribute actively to minimizing project delays by resolving issues swiftly.
• Ensure detailed and accurate reporting, documentation, and adherence to ADNOC project standards.
