Role Overview
This part-time position based onsite in Byron Bay involves installing, wiring, and connecting solar and electrical systems for residential and small commercial clients. Responsibilities include performing electrical inspections, troubleshooting and maintenance, repairing systems, and conducting safety and performance tests. The role requires interpreting electrical schematics, collaborating with installation teams, and effectively communicating system usage and basic upkeep to customers, all while ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Solid understanding of fundamental electrical principles and general electrical tasks.
- Experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical setups in homes or small commercial properties.
- Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts as they apply to solar system installations.
- Possession of a recognized electrician trade qualification, license, or certification valid in NSW.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, and associated safety procedures.
- Ability to accurately interpret wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and installation instructions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to electrical codes and regulations.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients and team members on site.
- Physical capability to perform demanding onsite duties such as working at heights and handling equipment safely.
