Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven Dry Freight Charterer to join our freight team in Singapore. This position requires 3 to 5 years of experience focused on tonnage procurement, specifically within the Supramax vessel segment covering key Asian markets. The candidate will be responsible for securing time-chartered vessels to support cargo operations while fostering strategic relationships with shipowners, operators, and brokers throughout the region.
Key Duties
- Identify and secure time charter vessels (Supramax) across Asia in alignment with cargo needs and trading strategies.
- Establish and nurture commercial partnerships with regional shipowners, operators, and brokers.
- Negotiate charter terms competitively ensuring compliance with operational, commercial, and risk frameworks.
- Monitor market developments, freight indices, and vessel availability to deliver timely market insights.
- Collaborate closely with cargo desks, operations, and risk management teams to maximize fleet efficiency and commercial gains.
- Maintain current market intelligence and provide consistent updates on freight opportunities and associated risks.
- Contribute to and support strategic initiatives aligned with the long-term chartering objectives of the company.
Required Profile
- At least three years of experience in dry freight chartering with a focus on Supramax or Handysize vessel classes.
- Proven expertise in time chartering and vessel procurement processes.
- Professional background in shipownership, vessel operation, commodity trading, or freight brokerage with strong credibility in the market.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Asian dry bulk market and an existing network of regional shipowners and operators.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to wider dry bulk segments or related freight markets is advantageous.

Team Context
The Freight team is part of the commercial operations unit and is essential in managing vessel tonnage to support global cargo programs. Reporting to the Head of Geared Freight Trading, this role will engage closely with cargo, operations, and risk teams to optimize performance and outcomes.
