Position Summary
Amentum is looking for a skilled Diver to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission based on Andros Island, Bahamas. The role requires the candidate to obtain and maintain a US Secret Government Clearance, which mandates US citizenship.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct strictly limited "No Decompression" dives up to 100 feet using open circuit SCUBA equipment and assist in recovering, inspecting, repairing, installing, or removing components from U.S. Navy marine vessels and structures.
- Manage and uphold the diving air systems following OSHA Diving Air standards.
- Handle and maintain all diving gear, including tanks, regulators, masks, and fins, ensuring readiness for operations.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes adhering to OSHA/NAVFAC safety standards.
- Operate tractor trailers according to NAVSEA requirements.
- Use and maintain underwater camera and video systems effectively.
- Operate dive boats along with related support machinery.
- Carry out ordnance/target logistics including handling, transport, and recovery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- At least four years of relevant experience in military diving, OSHA commercial air diving, or a closely related professional diving environment.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
- Certification from the Association of Commercial Diving Educators or an equivalent military diving certification.
- Ability to obtain NAVFAC certifications as forklift and overhead crane operator and as a tractor trailer operator within six months from hire.
- Qualification as an Ordnance Team Member within six months following the date of employment.
- Willingness and capability to live in a remote location with limited access to medical facilities.
- Valid driver's license and passport for official travel purposes.
- Preferred experience with ship husbandry and transducer replacements.
- Training in lift bag and underwater rigging is advantageous.
- Skills or certification in Aqualung first and second stage maintenance, including repair and rebuilding, are beneficial.
- Must qualify and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance; US citizenship is mandatory.
