Role Overview
As a Dispenser within a Boots UK store in Kirkcaldy, Scotland, you will be an essential member of the pharmacy team, assisting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure the secure and efficient provision of pharmacy and healthcare services. This position involves direct interaction with patients to understand their healthcare needs, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring safe medicine sales, and advising patients based on your healthcare expertise to promote informed health choices.
Key Duties
- Dispensing prescriptions ensuring safe medicine supply including ordering, labeling, endorsing, and collection processing.
- Collaborating with other healthcare staff in delivering pharmacy services effectively.
- Providing medicine-related care and advice to patients, referring complex queries to the Pharmacist.
- Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for safe, compliant prescription dispensing.
- Keeping updated on store innovations and operational procedures.
- Supporting patients to manage prescriptions, ensuring repeat reliability, promoting adherence, and minimizing waste.
- Engaging with evolving in-store technologies to enhance dispensing safety and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must have completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 or equivalent, or have finished the first year of an MPharm degree.
- Legal right to work in the UK is mandatory; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not provided.
Preferred Background
- Experience working within community pharmacy settings is advantageous.
