About the Role

We are looking to recruit a Design Assistant to join a rapidly expanding fashion brand's creative Product team based in Sydney. This position offers a remarkable chance for individuals aiming to develop a career in fashion design. You will collaborate closely with experienced Designers and Garment Technicians, gaining practical experience throughout the entire product development journey, supporting the creation of trend-driven collections from the initial concept stage to final production.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Design and Product teams through all phases of the product lifecycle
• Assist in preparing technical documentation, including CADs, tech packs, and product specifications
• Organize garments for fit sessions and accurately document technical feedback
• Coordinate sample management, including fabrics, trims, and communication with suppliers
• Monitor product development progress to meet crucial deadlines
• Maintain range plans, product data, and related design documentation
• Contribute to trend research, fabric sourcing, and market analysis
• Work collaboratively with Design, Garment Tech, and Production teams to ensure smooth product launches

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience as a Design Assistant or a related product role within the fashion industry
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator with the ability to create technical CADs
• Good understanding of garment construction, fit, and product development processes
• Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
• Strong communication skills and confidence when engaging with suppliers
• A genuine passion for fashion, trends, and product innovation
• Capacity to handle multiple priorities effectively in a fast-moving environment
