Delivery Driver

About the Role

Elgas Limited, a prominent LPG supplier in Australia and the South Pacific, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver to join their busy Christchurch team. This role demands delivering and filling LPG gas cylinders to residential and commercial customers across the region. As a face-to-face customer interaction position, excellent service skills and safety awareness are essential. The working hours are Monday through Friday starting around 6:30 am and finishing by 5:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and replenish LPG gas cylinders to homes and businesses throughout the assigned region.
• Engage directly with customers, addressing queries and providing assistance when needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols, particularly due to handling hazardous materials.

Candidate Requirements

• Hold a clean Class 2 driver’s license with at least two years of experience operating Class 2 vehicles.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles and prior experience delivering goods is necessary.
• Physically capable of lifting heavy items during delivery tasks.
• Possess or be willing to acquire a Dangerous Goods license and LPG filling experience.
• Flexible, adaptable, and focused on providing excellent customer service.
• Knowledgeable about the local region.
• Proficient in operating handheld computer delivery equipment.
• A proactive attitude towards health and safety responsibilities.
• Successfully clear background screenings, including criminal record, ACC history, medical check, and drug & alcohol tests.
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to align with operational demands.
