About the Opportunity

Planned Systems International (PSI), a government contractor, is seeking a Metrics Reporting Specialist to join the metrics department for the Independent Enterprise Testing and Support Services (IETSS) contract supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information & Technology (OIT). This role will join the Test Management and Operations (TMO) Testing Process Quality Improvement (TPQI) support team, whose activities include measurement and metrics, quality process and improvement, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and internal quality auditing. The role collaborates with various teams including Test & Evaluation, Testing Intake Assessment, Test Center systems analysts and administrators, VA project management, and stakeholders. The preferred location is Tampa, FL, but the position allows remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze various existing and potential data sources for reporting purposes.
  • Design, update, and maintain Power BI reports and interactive dashboards to support metrics tracking.
  • Ensure Measures and Metrics reports remain precise and perform optimally.
  • Perform data validation and routine quality assurance of reporting outputs.
  • Gather and understand user reporting requirements and data sources.
  • Translate customer requests into actionable project and task plans.
  • Assist in extracting metrics requirements for upcoming initiatives.
  • Support all stages of Power BI solution deployment, including use of Power BI Desktop, Workspaces, Apps, and managing service security and navigation.
  • Document procedures, data flows, automations, and reporting methodologies.
  • Participate in generating meeting notes, agendas, and metrics documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members to define metric definitions, implement reporting updates, and identify automation opportunities.
  • Contribute to or author parts of Measures and Metrics documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of team processes and templates for documentation and artifacts.
  • Optimize Power BI M queries for efficiency.
  • Coordinate with SQL database administrators to develop and refine data sources for reports.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues with Power BI data refreshes and escalate when necessary.
  • Document Power BI permissions, workspace configurations, and report deployment processes.
  • Prepare and deliver weekly and ad hoc reports in Power BI format as well as PowerPoint and Excel presentations.
  • Provide general administrative and reporting assistance to the Measures and Metrics team.
  • May assist in designing and maintaining SharePoint sites, pages, lists, and libraries.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent experience or certifications may be accepted.
  • Three to five years’ experience in supporting reporting, data analytics, or business operations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Power BI and/or Tableau, including report visuals, datasets, filters, publishing, as well as DAX and M Query languages.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data presentation and reporting.
  • Experience working with United States government agencies such as Department of Defense or VA preferred.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio 2013 or newer), SharePoint Online, Remote Desktop Connection, and collaboration tools like Teams.
  • Experience with VBA and Microsoft Power Automate considered beneficial.
