Job Overview
This entry-level Cybersecurity Analyst position involves supporting the monitoring and analysis of security events under direct mentorship. The role is designed to develop expertise in cybersecurity operations, tools, and compliance through hands-on involvement in daily activities that protect member data and uphold organizational trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts, logs, and telemetry from tools like SIEM and EDR/XDR, adhering to established protocols and escalation processes.
- Conduct preliminary investigations into routine security incidents, recording findings and responses under senior guidance.
- Participate in incident response by assisting in containment and remediation efforts as instructed.
- Execute tasks related to vulnerability scanning, patch verification, and maintaining security hygiene under supervision.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation such as SOPs, incident logs, and playbooks.
- Support cybersecurity awareness programs including phishing tests and employee cyber hygiene reporting.
- Assist with access management duties, including access reviews, following set procedures.
- Utilize dashboards, reporting tools, and ticketing systems to manage incident data effectively.
- Engage in tabletop exercises, drills, and training to enhance knowledge of security procedures.
- Collaborate professionally with cybersecurity peers, IT staff, and other departments.
- Complete assigned project tasks on schedule with close oversight.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least one year of relevant experience in cybersecurity, IT, or a related technical domain.
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or similar are advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, frameworks like NIST CSF and CIS Controls, and incident response lifecycle.
- Familiarity with log analysis, alert investigation, and awareness of typical attack vectors.
- Understanding the role of compliance and policies in risk mitigation and organizational mission support.

Compensation
The hourly wage ranges from $28.30 to $35.38 depending on experience level.
