About Lookout Housing and Health Society
Lookout Housing and Health Society offers housing and various support services to adults with low or no income who face limited housing or support options. The organization minimizes barriers to accessing their services to support clients in meeting their basic needs and goals.
Work Location and Schedule
This role is based at the Campbell River Health location in Campbell River, British Columbia. The position requires working Tuesday through Saturday, totaling a 40-hour work week, with occasional additional hours needed to meet deadlines.
Job Summary
The Coordinator will support daily operations of Lookout's residential, shelter, and outreach programs under the guidance of the Program Manager. The role ensures effective program delivery aligned with the Society's mission, supports staff management, administers program operations, and maintains compliance with health and safety standards and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Help manage and evaluate assigned residential, shelter, and outreach programs.
- Maintain program objectives, philosophy, and a low-barrier service model.
- Coordinate program administration including documentation and reporting systems.
- Review operating policies and propose adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams, community organizations, and government bodies to coordinate services.
- Assist in personnel management, including hiring, scheduling, and maintaining employee records.
- Manage payroll records ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Support ongoing staff development through training and educational programs.
- Prepare reports, assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and track program expenditures.
- Maintain financial records such as petty cash, donations, and service accounts.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Uphold client confidentiality per organizational policies and legal standards.
- Investigate complaints and operational issues, recommending appropriate solutions.
- Participate actively in management meetings, committees, and professional development.
- Perform additional duties as required to support program success.
Qualifications and Competence
- Post-secondary education in Social Services or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of experience in community social services.
- Experience handling scheduling, payroll, budgeting, and human resources functions.
- Knowledge of income assistance programs, affordable housing, and health-related resources.
- Valid First Aid Training Certificate and clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening.

- Experience in collecting and reporting program statistics.
- Strong time management skills to juggle multiple priorities effectively.

Additional Information
The position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing as per WorkSafeBC standards, involving being clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.
