Position Summary

This role is for a Contracts Manager and Estimator focused on roofing and building facade maintenance projects. The position involves combining technical surveying, estimating, client relationship management, and project delivery duties to support the company’s expansion. The role demands versatility, a hands-on approach, and strong problem-solving capabilities, managing projects from initial surveys through to successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed roof surveys, inspections, and condition assessments.
• Prepare accurate quotations, estimates, and detailed scopes of work.
• Manage client interactions, providing expert technical advice and fostering relationships.
• Lead project planning, mobilisation, and coordination efforts effectively.
• Supervise subcontractors and internal delivery teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Track and evaluate project performance regarding quality, scheduling, and costs.
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and company policies.
• Generate comprehensive survey reports, progress documentation, and project close-out papers.
• Identify opportunities to offer additional services and propose long-term maintenance solutions.
• Contribute to business growth by maintaining high service quality and client satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in roofing, construction, building fabric maintenance, or related fields.
• Strong capability in estimating and pricing construction works.
• Comprehensive understanding of roofing systems and repair procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Excellent organisational and project planning skills.
• Strong communication skills, client engagement, and relationship management.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Proactive and solution-oriented approach to work challenges.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience managing roofing contracts or large projects.
• Familiarity with flat, pitched roofing, and external building fabric repairs.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications such as SMSTS, IOSH, or NEBOSH.
• Experience overseeing subcontractors and on-site teams.
• Knowledge of project management software and reporting tools.

Employment Details and Benefits

• Location: Bedford, England, UK.
• Salary range: £50,000 to £60,000 annually plus bonus and benefits.
• Performance bonus potential up to £10,000 OTE per year.
• Company vehicle available for site surveys.
• Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with early Fridays finishing at 4 pm.
• Hybrid working option after probation period with a 4:1 office to remote ratio.
