Construction Helper

Job Overview

JBC Construction is seeking a full-time Construction Helper to promptly join their team in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area, specifically at 3513 Stevenson St, Port Coquitlam, BC. This position offers an hourly wage of $39 and requires working 35 to 40 hours weekly. The role focuses on supporting various residential construction projects including renovations and new home builds.

Primary Duties

• Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment to and within construction sites.
• Provide assistance to carpenters and skilled tradespeople during finishing projects such as basements, kitchens, bathrooms, custom homes, and secondary dwellings.
• Set up and take down temporary structures like scaffolding, ramps, and barricades to facilitate safe site operations.
• Execute demolition tasks, clear debris, and maintain clean, safe, and organized work environments.
• Mix and handle construction substances such as concrete and mortar, and manage related equipment as instructed.
• Operate various hand, power, and pneumatic tools safely under supervision, contributing to general construction activities.
• Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety measures and assist with maintaining site cleanliness.

Work Conditions

This job is located entirely on-site with no remote work options. The environment is outdoor and may be dusty.

Qualifications

• Basic English communication skills are required.
• Previous experience in construction labor ranging from 1 to under 7 months is necessary.
• No formal education certificates or diplomas are required.
