Role Overview
The Commis II & III positions at Tunamaya Beach & Spa Resort - Tioman Island are responsible for supporting daily kitchen operations, preparing and cooking food items, and ensuring quality standards in the designated kitchen section.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and actively engage in daily kitchen tasks, including preparing and producing food items within the assigned section while maintaining established quality standards.
- Complete all mise-en-place preparations thoroughly and efficiently, and ensure all kitchen tools, appliances, and workspaces are kept clean, sanitized, orderly, and presentable at all times.
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes under close supervision of the First Cook to maintain consistent high-quality food production.
- Adhere strictly to the hotel’s Health, Safety, and Hygiene policies as well as internal house rules and grooming standards.
- Attend work punctually and follow duty schedules as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Communicate special requests or pertinent matters to the Demi Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and relevant team members.
- Participate in formal training sessions conducted by Manpower or the Kitchen team aimed at enhancing food quality standards and personal career growth.
- Practice basic guest courtesy skills where applicable.
- Regularly inspect the assigned section for any maintenance needs, report them promptly to the Demi Chef, and follow through to ensure proper resolution.
- Carry out additional tasks or special projects as assigned by supervisors.
