Position Overview
This opportunity is for a Client Engagement Lead based in Canada, focusing on overseeing client success from strategic planning to delivery within a technology consulting environment. The role demands a commercially minded professional capable of managing client relationships, ensuring measurable value from engagements, and maintaining strong partnerships remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison for multiple client engagements, fostering trust and strong stakeholder relationships.
- Gain deep understanding of client objectives and challenges, aligning these with deliverable outcomes.
- Anticipate risks and issues, propose solutions proactively to preserve engagement success.
- Manage engagement profitability through monitoring financials including margins and budgets.
- Develop, negotiate, and oversee Statements of Work for current and new project phases.
- Identify opportunities for relationship growth and contribute to business development efforts.
- Support sales initiatives by assisting in opportunity creation and client solution shaping.
- Ensure delivery quality, manage scope, schedules, and overall client engagement performance.
- Make informed decisions regarding tradeoffs and provide solution-oriented recommendations.
- Lead delivery cadence in smaller projects through sprint planning and milestone reviews.
- Collaborate with project management on larger initiatives focusing on strategic alignment and client expectations.
- Coach team members on client communication, expectation management, and service excellence.
- Promote a culture of strong client service and teamwork.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience is required.
- Prior roles as an engineer or similarly technical position.
- A minimum of 5 years in client services, technical program management, consulting, or delivery within technology-focused organizations.
- Proven capability to manage client relationships independently as a trusted advisor.
- Experience drafting and negotiating Statements of Work.
- Proficiency in managing project budgets, financial performance, and engagement health.
- Strong technical literacy to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills for executive presentations and stakeholder interactions.
- Preferred experience includes IoT, embedded systems, connected hardware, electronics hardware, firmware, manufacturing, or pre-sales roles.
- Accurate project scope estimation and ability to challenge assumptions.
- Familiarity with Agile processes such as sprint planning and delivery workflows.
- Leadership abilities to coach and enhance team performance.
