Chiller Technician

Role overview

We are seeking a full-time Chiller Technician for an on-site position in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on the inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers, HVAC systems, and related mechanical equipment. You will also monitor performance, fine-tune controls, and work to improve energy efficiency and equipment dependability so the facility remains comfortable and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and resolve electrical issues, including defective sensors and wiring defects.
• Diagnose poor cooling performance, refrigerant leakage, and pressure irregularities.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation to support repair work.
• Test chiller control panels and digital display units, and program them where needed.
• Clean condenser coils and verify the operation of water flow switches.
• Safely recover, evacuate, and refill refrigerant.
• Drain compressor oil, replace oil, and install new oil filters.
• Remove and fit replacement Electronic Expansion Valves (EXVs) when required.
• Swap out or calibrate pressure transducers and temperature sensors.
• Install thermistors, flow switches, and safety control devices.
• Replace damaged components such as contactors, fuses, valves, and fans.
• Carry out diagnostic checks after repairs to confirm normal operation.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and fault/error codes.
• Observe all safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out practices.

Qualifications and experience

Candidates should have a technical diploma or ITI in HVAC, Mechanical, or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical, hands-on experience is required.
