Job description

Position Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Mega Projects offers top-level leadership and operational supervision over the company’s extensive portfolio of large-scale construction projects, valued around 10 billion SAR. This position guarantees that projects are accomplished safely, punctually, within financial constraints, and up to established quality benchmarks, all while enhancing operational productivity, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the comprehensive planning, management, and completion of mega construction projects.
  • Design and execute operational strategies that align with overall corporate goals.
  • Supervise project metrics including scheduling, budgeting, quality assurance, safety protocols, and profitability analysis.
  • Manage Project Directors and Operations Managers to maintain uniform project outcomes.
  • Optimize the deployment of resources such as workforce, machinery, and materials across projects.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop proactive mitigation plans.
  • Ensure adherence to contracts, company policies, and legal regulations.
  • Build and sustain robust relationships with clients, consultants, governmental bodies, and strategic allies.
  • Promote excellence in operations, spearhead innovations, and cultivate continuous improvement efforts.
  • Regularly report operational outcomes and performance metrics to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or closely related fields; postgraduate degrees or MBAs are advantageous.
  • At least 20 years’ experience in the construction sector with a minimum of 10 years’ engagement in senior executive roles handling large-scale project portfolios.
