About the Organisation

The Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn is a multifaceted faith-based organisation that includes community services, educational institutions, parish ministries, property management, and investment operations. Currently, under a refreshed strategic plan, the Diocese's shared corporate services entity, Anglican Diocesan Services, is seeking a commercially focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to contribute to shaping its future direction.

Role Overview

This CFO position extends beyond standard finance leadership responsibilities. The role involves spearheading a finance transformation across multiple related entities by enhancing systems, processes, reporting mechanisms, and team capabilities. The CFO will optimize a significant asset portfolio, reinforce financial stewardship, and ensure capital allocation maximizes the organisation's mission impact.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Lead the advancement and transformation of financial functions across the affiliated entities.
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial systems, operational processes, and reporting frameworks.
  • Strengthen financial stewardship practices and guide strategic asset deployment aimed at maximizing mission outcomes.
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, building trusted relationships within a complex organisational environment.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven commercial leadership with the ability to implement impactful organisational transformation while establishing credibility and trust.
