Role Overview

We are seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee all technical operations and maintenance at The Hoxton Hamburg, ensuring the smooth functioning of hotel facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive maintenance of hotel equipment and infrastructure.
• Monitor maintenance budgeting and inventory levels, ensuring costs remain within set limits.
• Maintain full awareness and proficiency regarding health and safety policies, assisting in risk assessment preparations.
• Implement and oversee preventative maintenance schedules effectively.
• Supervise contractors on-site for various maintenance tasks.
• Procure maintenance materials and regulate stock control.
• Keep detailed records of machinery and equipment, including specifications and manuals.
• Ensure timely testing and maintenance of fire safety apparatus.
• Coordinate quotations from suppliers for maintenance-related work.
• Lead and inspire a motivated team by establishing goals, supporting growth, and fostering a positive work environment.
• Identify and drive enhancements in maintenance processes and procedures.
• Participate in the hotel’s crisis and fire response teams, fully understanding their protocols.
• Manage projects related to policy and procedural changes.
• Maintain exceptional customer service standards with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Provide coverage for engineer shifts as needed.
