Role Overview
We are looking for a dependable and detail-conscious Catering & Driver to join our Charlottetown, Canada team. This hybrid position involves both the preparation and delivery of quality catered food and beverages as well as ensuring the safe and efficient transport of these services. The successful candidate will uphold our organization’s high professional standards, managing catering and transportation duties to meet and surpass client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, plate, and serve meals and drinks as per specific client instructions and dietary needs
- Operate catering machinery safely while maintaining cleanliness of food preparation zones
- Monitor food stock levels, manage inventory, and place orders as necessary to maintain supplies
- Drive company vehicles responsibly and adhere to all traffic laws and company policies
- Organize and optimize delivery routes within Charlottetown to ensure prompt arrival
- Keep detailed maintenance logs for vehicles and promptly report mechanical problems
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Set up and dismantle catering stations, including tables, utensils, and decor
- Liaise with clients and event planners to verify delivery schedules, menus, and special instructions
- Handle cash dealings, process payments, and keep precise financial records
- Perform regular vehicle inspections and ensure the catering vehicle is clean and well-kept
- Simultaneously manage multiple deliveries and events while maintaining efficient organization
Qualifications & Skills
- Possess a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving history
- Food handling certification and knowledge of relevant food safety standards
- Experience in food service or catering operations
- Demonstrated capability driving commercial or passenger vehicles
- Strong time-management and organizational abilities
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Physical endurance to lift objects and stand for long periods
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
- Meticulous attention to food preparation and presentation details
- Preferred experience includes prior catering and event management exposure
- Knowledge of Charlottetown routes and local geography is advantageous
- Basic vehicle maintenance skills are a plus
