Position Overview
Cashiers are essential in delivering excellent customer service by ensuring quick, friendly, accurate, and secure transaction experiences. They handle checkout and return operations and oversee the self-checkout zone. Additionally, cashiers actively enhance their product and project knowledge to inform customers and recognize selling prospects. Compliance with company policies and procedures is vital to minimize shrinkage.
Additional Role: Head Cashier
The Head Cashier supports the cashier team by allocating personnel, facilitating price verifications, and authorizing Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various departments including main registers, self-checkout, returns, Pro Desk, special services, and tool rental. They serve as the initial point of escalation for customer concerns and aid in managing, mentoring, and training front end associates. This includes onboarding new cashiers and employing all coaching tools for staff development.
Qualifications
Preferably, candidates possess at least one year of cashier experience to qualify for the Head Cashier responsibilities.
