Position Overview
Cashiers serve a vital role in customer service by delivering prompt, courteous, accurate, and secure transaction processing. Duties include handling checkout and return transactions, as well as overseeing the Self-Checkout area. Cashiers actively enhance customer experiences through product and project knowledge to offer information and identify sales opportunities. Strict adherence to company policies ensures minimizing inventory shrinkage.
Responsibilities
- Manage checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout stations to ensure smooth customer flow.
- Pursue product and project knowledge to provide informed assistance and promote sales.
- Comply with policies and procedures aimed at reducing shrinkage.
Head Cashier Role
- Position Cashiers and support their work by expediting price verifications.
- Authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various service points including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as first-level escalation point for customer concerns.
- Assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates and new Cashiers using available development tools.
Additional Information
The preferred experience for the Head Cashier role is at least one year of prior cashier experience.
