Overview
Cashiers are vital customer service representatives who ensure fast, friendly, accurate, and secure checkout experiences. They handle checkout and return processes, oversee the Self-Checkout area, and actively expand their product and project knowledge to assist customers in making informed purchases and to identify potential sales opportunities. Strict adherence to company policies helps minimize shrinkage.
Responsibilities
- Conduct checkout and return transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Supervise and maintain the Self-Checkout section to guarantee smooth operation.
- Continuously build product and project knowledge to provide customers with helpful information and recognize selling chances.
- Uphold all organizational policies and procedures to reduce shrink and loss.
- For Head Cashiers: assign Cashier positions, facilitate price checks, approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various service areas including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Handle initial customer complaint escalations and support the coaching and training of Front End Associates.
- Participate actively in onboarding and training new Cashiers and use coaching tools to develop team members.
Qualifications
- Preferred experience: at least one year working as a Cashier.
