Position Overview
Cashiers serve a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring transactions are processed quickly, accurately, and safely. Their duties include managing checkout and return transactions, overseeing the Self-Checkout area, and actively acquiring knowledge about products and projects to offer customers helpful information and identify sales opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently handle customer checkout and return transactions.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout section to ensure smooth operation.
- Continuously seek to improve product and project understanding to assist customers effectively and boost sales.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage.
- Support the Head Cashier in various tasks including price checks, approving point of sale transactions and markdowns across multiple service points such as mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Assist with customer issue escalation as a first responder.
- Participate in training, coaching, and development of new and existing Front End Associates and Cashiers, utilizing all available tools to enhance their skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience as a Cashier is preferred for advancement to Head Cashier roles.
