About the Company
Kids Dream Ice Cream (KDIC) is a Liberian startup founded in 2019, now part of the TALWA Group of Companies since 2023. It specializes in providing a variety of ice cream flavors, along with fast food and pastries, through a safe and enjoyable ice cream parlor environment. KDIC operates in around seventeen supermarket and minimart locations across Montserrado and Margibi Counties, supported by a direct and indirect workforce.
Job Summary
The Cashier will be responsible for accurately managing all customer payment transactions at the point of sale, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining the front-of-house area's cleanliness and organization. The role involves processing orders efficiently, handling cash and digital payments, facilitating promotions, collaborating with kitchen and service teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies and food hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers warmly, providing menu guidance and promoting specials.
- Address customer concerns tactfully and escalate serious issues to management when needed.
- Process payments accurately via cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payment methods.
- Ensure correct pricing, issue receipts, and manage refunds or void transactions appropriately.
- Input orders into the POS system swiftly and communicate special requests to kitchen staff.
- Maintain balanced cash register operations, including opening and closing cash counts and deposit security.
- Keep the cashier station, counters, condiment areas, and dining space clean and well-stocked.
- Promote additional products and offers to customers to boost sales.
- Work closely with the entire team to ensure smooth customer service and relay feedback effectively.
- Comply with cash handling policies and uphold food safety and hygiene standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent; accounting degree preferred.
- Prior cash handling or customer service experience advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong numerical aptitude and keen attention to detail.
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic familiarity with POS systems and transaction processing.
Work Environment and Conditions
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods during service.
- Capability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced setting requiring flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to assist with light cleaning and support other staff as needed.
Additional Information
