Position Summary
Cashiers hold an essential customer service position responsible for delivering prompt, amicable, precise, and secure service to customers. These roles involve handling Checkout and Return transactions and overseeing the Self-Checkout area.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately at checkout and returns.
- Maintain and supervise the Self-Checkout section to ensure smooth operations.
- Proactively acquire product and project knowledge to inform customers and uncover sales opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage.
Head Cashier Duties
- Allocate tasks to Cashiers and provide support by expediting price verification and approving Point of Sale transactions, markdowns, and special services across multiple areas including mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as the initial point of escalation for customer concerns.
- Assist in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates by actively participating in onboarding new Cashiers and utilizing all available resources to foster skill development among Cashiers.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates for the Head Cashier role possess at least one year of experience working as a Cashier.
