Job Overview

We seek individuals wishing to redirect their careers with specialized knowledge, including those returning from parental leave. During the retraining phase, you will receive an attractive salary and subsequently work alongside colleagues on an equal footing.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Train Traffic Controller, you will operate from the signal box, guiding train movements to ensure safe, timely, and smooth operations.

We aim to fill the position promptly at various locations including Bad Liebenwerda, Gröditz, Hoyerswerda, Lauta, Lohsa, Ottendorf-Okrilla, Riesa, Röderaue, Senftenberg, Weißkeißel, Weißwasser/O.L., and Wülknitz under DB InfraGO AG.

Retraining Details

  • Full-time retraining (39 hours per week) combining theoretical and practical lessons.
  • Theory classes take place in regional training centers, while practical training is provided preferably near your residence.

Main Duties Post-Retraining

  • Control train traffic at small to large signal boxes using levers, buttons, and rotary switches.
  • Set routes (including track sections, points, and signals) to facilitate safe departures, e.g., from a station.
  • Monitor operations within stations.
  • Communicate and coordinate with colleagues in signal boxes, train drivers, and control centers.

Candidate Profile

  • Completed vocational training, such as in retail sales, restaurant service, bakery sales, or office administration.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Team-oriented and willing to take responsibility.
  • Ready for shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays, with consideration for work-life balance.
