Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Analyst to join on a 12-month contract based in Toronto, ON, supporting hybrid work arrangements. This role involves assisting with data management, governance, and regulatory compliance efforts. The successful candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to detect gaps in data, enhance compliance workflows, and aid in data retention and disposition processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support for data management and governance activities.
- Contribute to remediation tasks relating to data retention and disposition.
- Ensure data handling practices comply with organization-wide standards, policies, and relevant regulations.
- Conduct data analysis and create detailed reports using Excel.
- Maintain documentation on data management requirements, procedures, as well as capture risks and issues.
- Assist with identification, inventory, and cataloging of data assets.
- Carry out data disposition operations and keep proper evidence records.
- Spot and escalate risks and issues encountered during projects.
- Work cooperatively with multiple stakeholders and project teams.
- Manage deliverables independently while ensuring effective communication.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Hands-on experience with governance frameworks and processes.
- Proficiency in using Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
- Experience managing projects including tracking timelines and identifying risks.
- Strong data analysis capabilities with expertise in Excel.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Capacity to work autonomously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in financial services or banking sectors.
- Familiarity with data management controls, compliance mandates, and regulatory standards.
- Experience supporting data governance programs.
