Description de l'emploi
About Nash and the Role
Nash is the logistics backbone supporting major commerce brands like Walmart, Urban Outfitters, and 7-Eleven, as well as platforms such as Shopify and Toast. As the company grows rapidly, the need for a unified and scalable brand identity is critical. We are seeking our inaugural Brand Design Lead to craft and establish the visual identity of Nash, a platform foundational to modern commerce.
This role involves helping define and implement the new Nash brand, including everything from strategy to visual language, motion design, photography direction, wordmark, website, booth, and apparel. This is a unique chance to create a brand identity almost from scratch and see it evolve into a defining presence within its category.
You will report directly to the Chief Growth Officer and collaborate closely with the CEO, CTO, and a senior, fast-moving cross-disciplinary team spanning product, engineering, and growth. The team places high value on refined taste, craftsmanship, and strategic insight, with significant growth potential for the right individual.
Work Philosophy: AI-Native by Default
At Nash, brand design is fundamentally AI-native. We seek a designer whose workflow is deeply integrated with AI tools, not just occasional usage. Familiarity and instinctive use of AI platforms like Claude, Cursor, Figma Make, Midjourney, and Runway are expected, enhancing speed and quality of output manifold. This approach is about amplifying human creativity and craftsmanship—not replacing it.
For example, your daily routine might involve turning spoken concepts into interactive prototypes within hours, generating multiple campaign ideas rapidly and selecting the best for refinement, prototyping marketing website sections in code with AI assistance, and using prompt engineering and tool combinations as part of your design process.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, translate, and expand the Nash brand strategy into a cohesive and dynamic visual system encompassing identity applications, motion design, photography direction, illustration style, and typography.
- Create and maintain the marketing website using Figma and Webflow; manage landing pages, campaign pages, product launches, and visual storytelling at major events such as NRF, Manifest, and Shoptalk.
- Bring the brand to life via motion design across site interactions, product reveals, social media content, keynotes, and trade shows.
- Manage all visual communication materials supporting demand generation, including pitch decks, one-pagers, customer-facing documents, and partner materials.
- Use AI tools for rapid prototyping to accelerate the transition from concept to tangible artifact.
- Ensure every design element retains a human, authentic quality infused with creativity, balancing AI-enabled efficiency with craftsmanship.
- Create real-world brand experiences and installations that feel tangible and engaging amidst AI-generated content.
- Raise the standard of design quality across the company and coach colleagues on effectively using AI tools without sacrificing aesthetic judgment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement brand visuals within product environments.
- Contribute to the brand system by developing scalable patterns, components, prompts, and rituals that ensure a consistent brand presence.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in brand or product design, with a portfolio demonstrating strong craftsmanship across identity, web, motion, and campaigns.
- Direct experience leading or significantly evolving a brand at a high-growth technology company, with the ability to explain strategic decisions and trade-offs.
- Daily and active use of large language models (LLMs) such as Claude and AI prototyping tools like Replit as integral to the design process.
- Expertise with Figma and Webflow, proficiency in After Effects and Illustrator, and eagerness to learn and adopt emerging tools.
- Ability to think systemically, maintaining a holistic view of the brand while attending meticulously to details such as typography kerning.
- Clear and firm communication skills, open to evolving opinions when presented with new evidence.
- Comfort collaborating across disciplines including engineering and operations with an emphasis on practical execution.
- Preferred qualifications: experience building production-grade marketing sites with Webflow, motion design showcased on key pages or keynotes, prior work designing for B2B platforms, infrastructure, or logistics, and personal projects utilizing AI prototyping tools.
Additional Information
To apply, candidates should submit a portfolio, a brief note highlighting brand work they are most proud of and the role of AI in their design process. Alternative application formats like a prototype, video presentation, or design file are welcomed.
