Position Overview
Crossing Hurdles is seeking a skilled Biologist for a remote contract role focused on gene editing using CRISPR technology. This opportunity offers flexible weekly hours between 10 and 40, with hourly compensation ranging from $70 to $90.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, refine, and conduct CRISPR-based gene editing experiments to advance research objectives.
- Create and apply cloning methodologies to develop new genetic constructs and modified cell lines.
- Utilize genotyping techniques, PCR assays, and DNA sequencing to verify genetic alterations.
- Design synthetic DNA and RNA sequences and assist in developing screening processes suitable for high-throughput workflows.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to convert experimental findings into structured data sets for AI training applications.
- Employ molecular biology methods to investigate and characterize molecules, cellular organelles, and overall cellular architecture.
- Maintain meticulous records of experimental procedures and outcomes to ensure reproducibility and effective knowledge transfer.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experienced in CRISPR technology and associated gene editing protocols.
- Proficient with cloning techniques, genotyping, and PCR-based assay procedures.
- Strong expertise in sequence design and molecular screening tactics.
- Excellent scientific communication skills, both written and spoken, with a strong focus on detail.
- Capable of comprehensively researching and analyzing molecular and organelle cellular functions.
- Demonstrated dedication to precision in data management, optimizing workflows, and maintaining experimental integrity.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented, with a history of contributing meaningfully to impactful research efforts.
- Possesses at least a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a closely related discipline.
