About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Aviation Safety Engineer to join a global leader in energy operations based in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position centers on overseeing aviation safety within the Loss Prevention division, focusing on comprehensive risk management for fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, heliports, helidecks, offshore locations, and remote airstrips across the Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and implement the Aviation Safety Management System (SMS)
- Perform health, safety, and environmental (HSE) inspections and audits across aviation assets including aircraft and associated infrastructure
- Conduct detailed aviation risk assessments, job safety analyses, process hazard analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Investigate aviation incidents thoroughly to determine root causes and enforce corrective measures
- Support and ensure the safety of offshore and remote helicopter operations
- Review design aspects of aviation facilities for compliance with GACA, ICAO, and IATA standards
- Develop, assess, and update Emergency Response Plans tailored to aviation scenarios
- Deliver safety training programs to staff and contractors
- Provide mentorship to junior safety and loss prevention personnel
- Respond promptly to aviation emergencies with on-site technical safety expertise
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering disciplines such as Aviation, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related fields
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in health, safety, and environmental roles within oil & gas or aviation sectors
- Familiarity and working knowledge of GACA regulations, ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), and IATA standards
- Strong command of English, both verbal and written; adept in training, auditing, and presenting safety information
