Key Responsibilities

  • Coach managers on performance feedback, documentation, recognition, and routine team management discussions.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations and Talent Acquisition on employee lifecycle events such as onboarding, internal transfers, and exits.
  • Assist with employee relations case management, escalating complex issues appropriately.
  • Help managers address attendance, conduct, and performance issues, ensuring thorough and compliant documentation in cooperation with People leadership and Legal.
  • Bridge business units and People Operations to guarantee smooth implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Support company-wide people programs including performance reviews, calibrations, engagement surveys, and compensation processes.
  • Utilize people analytics like headcount, turnover, and engagement data to drive insights and continuous HR process improvements.

Success Criteria

  • Become the trusted first point of HR for managers and employees across the organization.
  • Effectively handle most daily people issues while escalating complex ones to Strategic HRBPs.
  • Partner with leadership and Legal to maintain compliant and well-documented employee relations practices.
  • Contribute to key people projects and programs.
  • Leverage People data to improve at least one core HR process, enhancing manager and employee experiences measurably.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years' experience supporting HR functions in a generalist or HRBP-assist role.
  • Basic understanding of employee relations, performance management, coaching, and HR operations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency using HR systems and interpreting data.
  • Knowledge of U.S. labor laws and ability to work regularly onsite in Iowa.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hybrid or distributed workforce environment.
