What the role involves
As an Assistant Support Worker, you will help deliver person-centred care and practical day-to-day support. The role is designed to help people build independence, reach their goals, and live meaningful lives in their communities. Training and upskilling will be provided so you can grow into the role and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues and service users.
You will also be expected to work flexibly across a 24/7 service model, with shifts arranged to meet the needs of the people supported.
Main duties
- Help individuals organise and manage daily routines and activities.
- Support people to access and take part in community life.
- Assist with education, skills-building, and the achievement of personal goals and outcomes.
- Encourage independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and staying connected with family and friends.
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice as required.
- Carry out any additional duties that reasonably fit the needs of the position.
