Job description

Position Overview

The Assistant Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the pharmaceutical packaging lines operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with cGMP standards. This role involves coordinating packaging staff, confirming proper line clearance, setup, thorough documentation, and precise material reconciliation. Monitoring hourly production output and promptly flagging any deviations or technical issues to supervisors are key duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain adherence to cGMP principles and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Follow all gowning procedures as detailed in the relevant SOPs.
  • Ensure the team complies with EMS and HSE policies through active monitoring, training, and guidance.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, perform root cause analyses, and drive corrective and preventive measures.
  • Promote initiatives that enhance environmental performance and foster a strong HSE culture within the department.
  • Organize packaging lines according to established standard operating procedures.
  • Verify that all equipment and tools in the packaging area are clean prior to starting operations.
  • Assign tasks to packaging staff while ensuring adherence to SOPs and cGMP regulations.
  • Participate actively in line-clearance procedures.
  • Conduct line setup, startup, material reconciliations, and destruction activities, completing all required documentation per approved procedures.
  • Complete batch documentation relevant to the assigned shift.
  • Report errors or technical malfunctions promptly to the Team Leader or Specialist.
  • Track hourly line capacity to support peak efficiency levels.
  • Report any deviations encountered to the designated Specialist or Team Leader.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum educational level of Higher Secondary School.
  • At least three years of experience within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
