Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager with the day-to-day retail operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and meeting sales objectives. This position serves as the acting manager during the Store Manager’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in managing store operations and staff effectively.
- Support merchandising efforts including stocking shelves and unpacking shipments daily.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and handle escalated customer issues.
- Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance performance.
- Manage cash operations and execute store opening and closing duties as required.
- Delegate tasks to team members and maintain a safe, clean store environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to employees.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising throughout the store.
- Oversee hiring processes and manage employee performance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least two years of retail experience with a minimum of two years in supervisory or managerial positions.
- Availability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership qualities with effective communication and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
