Role overview
Goodstart Early Learning is seeking an Assistant Director for its Andergrove centre in Queensland. This is a full-time position of 38 hours per week, based at 2-10 Emperor Drive, Andergrove, 4740, QLD.
The hourly rate is $44.39 to $45.84, depending on qualification and experience, plus superannuation and additional benefits.
What the role involves
In this leadership position, you will work closely with the Centre Director to help guide the centre and support the team. The role calls for an experienced early learning professional who wants to grow their leadership capability while helping drive a high-performing and caring centre environment.
You will help motivate the team, support continuous improvement in centre operations, build respectful relationships with families, and maintain strong connections with the local community.

Goodstart Andergrove is a 75-place centre located in a quiet, family-friendly area north of Mackay. The centre offers a welcoming and calm setting that is easy to reach, with nearby public and private schools and frequent public transport.
The centre’s approach is shaped by safety, inclusion, respect, and strong collaboration between children, families, and educators. It also promotes a supportive, warm, and nurturing team culture.
Key duties
- Partner with the Centre Director to lead the team in delivering high-quality early learning and care.
- Coach and strengthen the capability of staff across the centre.
- Take charge of centre operations when the Centre Director is unavailable.
- Apply the Goodstart Practice Guide in day-to-day practice.
