About the Role
A reputed fashion brand is actively seeking an Assistant Designer specialized in loungewear to contribute to the creation and development of seasonal loungewear collections. The position involves collaborating closely with various teams including Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, and Vendor partners to ensure the successful transition of concepts into market-ready products.
Key Responsibilities
- Create designs that align with the brand identity while supporting seasonal themes and business goals.
- Develop products emphasizing style, appropriate fit, fabric selection, color palettes, and prints.
- Produce detailed sketches, CAD drawings, tech packs, and comprehensive design specifications.
- Conduct thorough research on market trends, consumer tastes, and competitive product offerings.
- Work collaboratively across departments such as Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, and Vendors.
- Maintain and update line sheets and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) data consistently throughout the design process.
- Assist with fittings and oversee product development stages from initial concept to final execution.
- Organize and prepare relevant materials for presentations, meetings, and seasonal reviews.
- Manage development timelines, track deliverables, and ensure milestones are met efficiently.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or an analogous discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years professional experience in apparel design.
- Specific experience in loungewear design is required.
- Strong grasp of current fashion trends, garment fit, fabric characteristics, and construction techniques.
- Proficient with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Experienced in creating tech packs and other development documentation.
- Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software preferred.
- Excellent skills in sketching, presentation, communication, and organization.
- Possessing attractive hand sketching skills is considered a significant advantage.
