Role Overview
The Applications Engineer will support the sales cycle by crafting technical and commercial proposals, developing product configurations, and ensuring the customer's needs are accurately reflected within internal solutions. This position works closely with sales, engineering, and operations teams to deliver prompt, precise, and competitive proposals and supports projects from order through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist sales teams in early-stage engagements by evaluating customer requirements and recommending suitable technical solutions
- Prepare accurate product configurations, technical drawings, and commercial proposals
- Analyze RFQ packages, including technical specifications, single-line diagrams, and client documentation
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing departments to ensure feasibility and standards compliance
- Participate in internal and external meetings to facilitate project handovers and clarify technical details
- Oversee order processing and coordinate the transition of job files to project execution teams
- Provide post-sale assistance, updating documentation and liaising with execution teams as needed
- Maintain quoting tools, templates, and standard documentations
- Keep updated on relevant industry standards and product codes such as UL891, UL508A, and NEC
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related technical discipline
- 2 to 4 years’ experience in application engineering, electrical design, or technical sales support, preferably in power distribution or associated manufacturing sectors
- Strong expertise in PDUs, RPPs, UL891 switchboards, low-voltage distribution, and prefabricated LV systems
- Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is preferred
- Solid understanding of electrical codes and UL compliance requirements for low-voltage distribution equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong organizational abilities
- Detail-focused and capable of handling multiple priorities concurrently
- A collaborative and client-centric attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Professional demeanor with adaptability and proactive problem-solving skills
