Application Support Officer – Core Banking

Role Overview

Astek is hiring, on behalf of a client, an experienced Application Support Officer to deliver practical L1/L2 support for core banking platforms, especially TCS BaNCS, along with connected systems that help day-to-day banking operations stay reliable. The role focuses on tracking daily processing, handling production incidents within strict service timelines, and working with technical teams to restore and maintain stable, secure service.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as first- and second-line support for TCS BaNCS core banking and associated applications.
• Oversee end-of-day and beginning-of-day processing to keep daily operations completing successfully.
• Analyze and fix production incidents, system errors, and performance degradation.
• Liaise with TCS and internal stakeholders on defect resolution, emergency fixes, and patch deployment.
• Carry out system checks, review logs, and validate database records.
• Assist with change requests, release rollouts, and UAT activities.
• Prepare and keep up-to-date technical records for incidents, corrective actions, and operating procedures.
• Support general ledger postings, reconciliations, and core banking transaction flows.
• Help maintain compliance with security controls and audit expectations.
• Contribute to the availability and smooth functioning of core banking and integrated applications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in core banking application support.
• Must have direct experience supporting or working on TCS BaNCS implementation or support assignments.
• Strong background in resolving production issues for CBS environments within SLA targets.
• Solid understanding of banking operations, including loans, deposits, payments, trade finance, and treasury.
• Practical SQL and Oracle database capability, including query writing, data investigation, and validation.
• Experience with Unix/Linux, including scripting, log review, and batch job oversight.
• Working knowledge of EOD/BOD cycles, financial postings, and core banking batch processing.
• Awareness of integration touchpoints such as ATMs, internet/mobile banking, SWIFT, and payment gateways.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices, especially incident, change, and problem management.

Work Context

This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and is a full-time, on-site role.
