Role Overview
The Analyst – Roster Planning plays a pivotal role within the Onboarding Team based in Dubai, acting as an essential connector between Demand Planning, Roster Management, and Roster Administration. This position ensures workforce availability aligns accurately with anticipated demand, operational needs, and corporate goals by converting forecasts into effective and compliant workforce schedules. It involves detailed validation, analytical reporting, and continuous enhancement initiatives aimed at bolstering service levels, productivity, and operational cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximize workforce usage to avoid excessive staffing costs or shortages.
- Track and manage labor expenditure relative to budgets and forecasted demand.
- Enhance cost management by synchronizing rosters tightly with demand projections.
- Minimize reliance on overtime and temporary labor through strategic workforce scheduling.
- Contribute to financial planning by providing accurate labor cost forecasts and scenario evaluations.
- Spot efficiencies and cost savings via process improvements and automation.
- Serve as the primary interface coordinating Demand Planning, Roster Management, and Administration for smooth operations.
- Ensure roster outputs align with SLA benchmarks and operational goals consistently.
- Promptly address and resolve issues or risks affecting roster accuracy and delivery.
- Deliver actionable insights via dashboards and comprehensive reporting to stakeholders.
- Foster cross-department collaboration for problem-solving and decision-making.
- Implement demand forecasts into optimized, operationally feasible roster plans.
- Verify roster compilations and system updates for accuracy and compliance with regulations and policies.
- Maintain data quality across all workforce planning platforms.
- Create, document, and refine SOPs related to roster planning, governance, and controls.
- Conduct regular audits to assure roster fidelity and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Oversee employee accommodation scheduling to align with roster and operational needs, managing vacancies, usage, and cost controls.
- Facilitate accommodation allocations for new hires, transfers, and roster-driven changes efficiently.
- Explore opportunities to cut accommodation expenses through consolidation and optimization.
- Assist with scenario planning, including 'what-if' analyses for demand and operational shifts.
- Support Demand Planning team by handling deployment documentation and tracking.
- Identify and recommend workflow enhancements and automate key processes to improve workforce planning efficiency.
- Use analytic tools to enhance accuracy between forecast and roster outcomes.
- Champion adoption of best practices and support technology upgrades related to roster management.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 1 year in a strategic planning role related to workforce or operational planning.
- Minimum 2 years' experience managing rosters and staff schedules.
- Strong skills in financial analysis, budget oversight, and forecasting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for stakeholder engagement and influence.
- Proven leadership qualities with a track record of driving innovation and managing change.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UAE labor legislation.
