Position Overview
The Asset Management Analyst role, based in New York, San Francisco, or Chicago, is essential to managing, monitoring, and reporting on StepStone's real estate investments. The selected individual will play a pivotal role in advancing investment initiatives alongside partners, delivering analysis and updates to senior investment staff.
Responsibilities
- Conduct scenario analysis on current investments, development projects, and potential acquisitions, creating financial models and valuations.
- Support the maintenance and control of business plans, budgets, and capital projects, including cash flow modeling; highlight key risks and opportunities for enhancing value.
- Collaborate closely with operating partners to track investment progress and performance, ensuring adherence to investment guidelines and legal standards through site visits, manager meetings, market research, and broker discussions.
- Oversee debt compliance by monitoring investment performance against debt terms and projecting future trends.
- Prepare various reports including internal documents, client communications, quarterly valuations, and ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in real estate investment, reporting, or asset/portfolio management.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities with understanding of real estate metrics and structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word; experience with PowerBI and/or Argus is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting to internal committees and clients.
- High motivation, commitment, and attention to detail.
Compensation
Estimated salary ranges depend on location: $90,000 to $100,000 in San Francisco and New York; $80,000 to $85,000 in Chicago. These ranges are approximate and exclude benefits or other compensation components.
