NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, in collaboration with Air Products and ACWA Power, is creating a pioneering green hydrogen-based ammonia production facility in NEOM. This plant harnesses renewable solar, wind, and energy storage technologies to yield green ammonia intended for international markets, with operations anticipated to begin in 2026.

Role Summary

The Ammonia Operation Shift Supervisor is an essential member of the Operations & Maintenance team overseeing the safe, reliable ammonia production during assigned shifts. The role demands fostering strong cooperation among plant managers, control room staff, and field operators while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards and efficient permit management.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise and lead a team of 15 to 20 control room operators and field staff.
• Maintain robust collaborative relationships with plant leadership and operational teams.
• Oversee daily plant operations including troubleshooting, coordinating maintenance, and enhancing plant efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance groups to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks ranging from daily to long-term initiatives.
• Respond promptly to both scheduled and unscheduled plant shutdowns, spearheading troubleshooting efforts.
• Develop, revise, and implement operational procedures as necessary.
• Manage operational metrics to optimize plant effectiveness.
• Encourage cross-functional resource sharing across operations.

Health, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance

• Lead initiatives aimed at improving safety performance and minimizing injuries.
• Ensure full compliance with NGHC environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) standards and regulations.
• Support commissioning phases alongside the commission team.
• Implement stringent safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and company policies.
• Take charge as Incident Commander during emergencies.
• Ensure adherence to Management of Change procedures, bypass practices, statutory norms, and corporate standards.

Commissioning and Continuous Improvement

• Participate in all pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Provide support during troubleshooting and after-hours emergency interventions.
• Identify, promote, and implement best operational practices.
• Ensure all training, procedural, and regulatory needs are met effectively.
• Create and update procedures supporting plant operations.

Leadership and Team Development

• Mentor operators and technicians, emphasizing NGHC’s safety culture.
• Promote teamwork, integrity, inclusivity, and active participation within the operations team.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field.
• At least 10 years of experience managing ammonia plant operations.
• Minimum of a decade in operational leadership positions.
