About the Role

Kaipara District Council invites applications for a full-time, permanent Roading Administrator position based in Mangawhai or Dargaville. This role is integral to supporting the delivery of essential roading services throughout the Kaipara district and offers the opportunity to gain specialist knowledge in local government and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with administration and coordination of roading contracts, tenders, and contractor performance reporting.
  • Manage customer enquiries, service requests, and complaints ensuring prompt and efficient resolution.
  • Coordinate communications via the Roading inbox, linking customers, contractors, and Council teams effectively.
  • Handle financial administration tasks such as processing purchase orders, invoices, and claims.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation while supporting continuous improvement efforts within the team.

Candidate Profile & Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience in a customer-oriented administrative position, preferably within local government, roading, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Practical experience with contract or financial administration including invoicing and claims management.
  • Desirable knowledge of contract terms, procurement procedures, or tendering processes.
  • Experience with database entry and reporting; familiarity with Engineering Standards or Codes of Practice is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the district.
