About the Role
Join KPMG New Zealand's esteemed global professional services firm as an Accountant within our Private Enterprise - Delivery & Data Excellence (DDX) team based in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. This team specializes in technical accounting, process optimization, and implementing new technologies to enhance compliance services through data analytics and standardization. This position offers a unique chance to leverage advanced technology and methodologies while supporting various client accounts across industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare annual financial statements, income tax returns, and other compliance-related documentation for a wide variety of clients and entity types.
- Provide high-quality technical compliance services by applying comprehensive accounting and tax expertise to address and resolve complex issues ensuring accuracy and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with engagement teams across the organization to facilitate efficient service delivery.
- Mentor and support junior colleagues through coaching, sharing knowledge, and reviewing their work to foster professional growth.
- Contribute innovative ideas to promote a high-performance culture within the team focused on technical accounting and compliance service delivery.
- Identify process improvements and efficiency enhancements to support the ongoing evolution of the Delivery & Data Excellence team.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 2-3+ years of relevant experience in professional accounting compliance roles.
- Currently pursuing or holding a tertiary degree in Accounting.
- Either hold or are progressing towards CAANZ, CPA, or an equivalent overseas professional accounting qualification.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and accounting software.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently with a professional demeanor and a strong commitment to client service.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive team player who values collaboration but can also operate independently.
