RoleOverview

The Accommodation Supervisor reports to the Executive Accommodation Manager within the Rooms department. This pivotal role ensures impeccable guest experiences by managing room presentation, public area standards, and overseeing daily housekeeping operations. The supervisor drives quality control, accurate room readiness, resource management, and operational consistency, all underpinning the establishment's commitment to excellence and safety.

Primary Duties

  • Maintain the hotel's high cleanliness standards as endorsed by The Leading Hotels of The World.
  • Ensure safe and proper handling of cleaning tools and chemicals aligned with health and safety protocols.
  • Communicate hotel amenities and services effectively to guests upon request.
  • Guarantee all guest rooms, outdoor spaces, and public areas meet stringent cleanliness and presentation criteria.
  • Support the housekeeping team in preparing and maintaining guest rooms and public facilities following established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform room inspections utilizing a predetermined quality checklist before making rooms available for guests.
  • Maintain meticulous accountability for cleanliness, condition, and presentation within assigned zones.
  • Manage daily task lists, oversee section pantries, and ensure correct inventory management.
  • Promptly report any defects or maintenance issues through internal communication channels, preventing room sale until resolved.
  • Complete daily assigned cleaning credits responsive to occupancy rates and business demands.
  • Validate and record accurate start and end times for housekeeping staff to support productivity goals.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, maintaining a safe environment by ensuring equipment and materials are stored safely.
  • Handle and log any lost and found property according to procedure.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions directed by management.
  • Assist in cost control efforts by maintaining appropriate stock levels of chemicals, operating supplies, guest amenities, and linens.
  • Lead by setting strong examples in grooming, training, and service standards.
  • Guide team members in trolley stocking, work area setup, and meeting daily operational requirements.
  • Exhibit flexibility by supporting various housekeeping tasks to meet shifting business needs.
  • Contribute to team growth through coaching, feedback, and skills enhancement during shifts.
  • Ensure safety protocols are observed, including proper chemical usage and protective equipment application.
  • Uphold exceptional cleanliness throughout guest rooms, corridors, public zones, and estate surroundings.
  • Enforce adherence to shift checklists and SOPs to maintain operational consistency.
  • Promote sustainability practices via waste segregation and monitoring linen disposal.
  • Serve as a liaison between housekeeping staff and hotel leadership to facilitate communication.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least one year of supervisory experience in a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong dedication to quality standards, safety, and ongoing process improvement.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a guest-centric and standards-focused approach.
  • Authorization to work legally in Ireland.
