About the Internship
The internship involves hands-on experience in embedded firmware testing, where the intern will work with microcontrollers, configure CAN interfaces, sensors, and various test equipment. Key duties include applying different input parameters to Battery Management Systems (BMS), monitoring and analyzing CAN messages, decoding CAN signals from DBC files, and verifying outputs against specified requirements. The role also involves helping develop and maintain comprehensive test cases, checklists, and detailed test reports.
Responsibilities
- Program firmware onto microcontrollers and set up CAN interfaces and test sensors.
- Simulate diverse input conditions for BMS, including cell voltages and temperature readings.
- Utilize CAN interfaces to capture and interpret CAN messages, decoding signals via DBC files, and validate output accuracy.
- Assess firmware responses to ensure compliance with defined requirements and test scenarios.
- Assist in the creation and upkeep of test documentation, such as test cases, checklists, and reports.

Required Skills and Knowledge
- Fundamental knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded system principles.
- Proficiency in C programming and embedded firmware development concepts.
- Understanding of analog and digital signal processing.
- Basic familiarity with communication protocols, especially Controller Area Network (CAN).
- Comfort working with hardware components including connectors, wiring, and testing apparatus.
- Ability to interpret circuit diagrams, pin configurations, interfacing documentation, and testing specifications.
- Strong debugging and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail with the capacity to document testing outcomes thoroughly.
